Well, this is my first Blog. My name is Kurt. My wife, Mon and I live in a town called Chiang Dao, in Northern Thailand. We own a restaurant and budget guesthouse up here as well.

I have been living in Thailand for nearly six years now. A little over three years ago, I met my wife, Mon. Marrying her was the best thing I ever done. She is a wonderful person and the best cook in Thailand. (I realize I am a little biased :-)
A little over a year ago, we moved from Chiang Mai to Chiang Dao. We absolutely love it out here. So many things to do here... Hilltribe trekking, mountain climbing, hiking, spelunking, hanging out at the local waterfalls or hotsprings, or enjoying one of several great European restaurants, right here in town.
I will write more about Chiang Dao, Northern Thailand and our travels, but I want to see how this Blogger thingy works first, so I don't accidentally delete everything after writing for hours. My next blog will be longer, with details about travelling around Thailand, riding motorcycles, trekking and many other things that we enjoy doing.
